📍 Café Loburg, Wageningen, The Netherlands
📅 15 October 2025
🎙 Invited speaker: Prof. Saskia van Ruth (University College Dublin)
On the 15th of October, EFF-CoP took the stage at the Science Cafe Wageningen as part of the ongoing Science Café series. The theme “Deceptive Delicacies: What is Really in our Food?” sparked discussion, reflection and curiosity among attendees in the historic Café Loburg - one of Wageningen’s oldest cafés - with a programme that combined science, ethics and live music by the Troubagroove trio.
Prof. Saskia van Ruth, EFF-CoP's Coordinator, delivered her talk “Deceptive Delicacies – Deceptive Practices”, inviting the audience to consider personal and professional ethics, and sharing research insights on honesty and dishonesty within the current and future food sector. Her presentation connected these perspectives with broader issues in food fraud and the latest scientific developments in the field.
The session concluded with an introduction to EFF-CoP and a screening of EFF-CoP's Amsterdam flashmob recorded during the kick-off meeting!
