Blockchain technology - IS THIS THE FUTURE FOR THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR?

We are waiting for you on November 25th at the TRUSTyFOOD project FINAL CONFERENCE

In the last years, a lot has been said around blockchain, considering it a disruptive technology able to completely revolutionize the agri-food system. However, its real effectiveness remains subject to debate, as much of the enthusiasm appears to be driven more by hype than by concrete, large-scale implementations, or measurable impacts. As such, it is essential to critically assess whether blockchain is a genuinely transformative force or simply a technological trend yet to deliver on its full potential in the agri-food sector.

In 2022, the European Commission tasked TRUSTyFOOD consortium with providing clarity. In a multi-actor approach, thirteen partners from seven EU countries and one third country joined forces to move beyond technology-driven rhetoric, evaluating BCT role in the agri-food sector, recognising its added value but also application challenges. As the result of a long path involving an in-deep analysis of the state of the art and more than 200 external people - between experts and agri-food supply chain representatives - from 19 countries voluntarily involved in consultation’s initiatives (surveys, interviews, focus groups, working groups and Task Forces), the project produced a R&I Roadmap as its legacy, recommending a portfolio of R&I priorities and actions for the next decade to come.

The Final Conference will present the project’s evidence-based findings able to satisfy the needs and curiosities of scientific and technical personnel, policymakers as well as supply chain representatives (end users).

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about this technology. Is this the future? Discover it on Nov25th.

See you there!
